If you own a dog but have not considered fencing because
you'd like to retain the openness of your yard, consider
fencing a small area--or opt for a custom fence that adds
beauty to your yard. Not only is fencing a good idea
to keep your dog safe and your neighbors "unpestered," the
right kind of fence can be decorative and pleasing--such as
a custom wooden privacy fence or a wrought iron fence.
Dogs will not dig or jump over fences if they have been
introduced to the fence as puppies. In addition,
refrain from lifting your dog over the fence and keep
children from climbing fences in the dog's presence--and
generally the dog will never understand that he can get out
of the fence in this manner.
Digging can also be prevented by burying the bottom of the
fence several inches--or a narrow trench can be
built along the perimeter and filled with concrete. Holes
that have been dug should be filled with concrete or patio
blocks.
Fences should be built high enough to discourage jumping.
If you prefer a short fence, you can buy a simple harness
that prevents the dog from jumping. Installing
"barb-wire arms" (but strung with plain wire or fence fabric
instead of barbed wire)
will also prevent the dog from jumping or climbing out.
If you previously considered fencing to be an eye soar, remember
that there are many types of fencing that can add beauty to
your home--in addition to being functional. Projects Around the House
of Newnan, Georgia can build a custom
wooden privacy fence in a style that is elegant and will
match your home. We also install luxurious wrought
iron fences, well crafted chain link fences, and more.
